Ted Oberfeld is Co-founder of Oberfeld Snowcap where he holds the title of Chairman Emeritus. The story began in 1979 when he founded Oberfeld Enterprises. In 2002 Oberfeld Enterprises merged with Snowcap Investments Ltd. to create Canada’s leading tenant representation firm, Oberfeld Snowcap where Mr. Oberfeld took on the role of Co-Chairman. Today, the firm is one of Canada’s leading real estate advisory firm for retailers with over 40 years of experience in the industry. With its team of expert advisors at the helm Oberfeld Snowcap offers retailers a range of services from tenant representation to restructuring leases with the goal of adding lasting business value.
In 2004 Ted Oberfeld was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award from Cadillac Fairview Corporation Ltd. for his contributions to the industry over the years. He has been a longstanding member of the ICSC. In 2015, Mr. Oberfeld was honored with the Seymore Obront Award for outstanding service where he was recognized for his leadership, his distinguished service in the shopping center industry and his significant involvement in community service.
Mr.Oberfeld has been actively involved in many professional organizations as well as charitable community service. He has been co-chair of the Jewish Rehabilitation Hospital Annual Golf tournament in Laval, Quebec for over 10 years; helping raise over 4 million dollars for the hospital. The Jewish Rehabilitation Hospital named a wing in his honor in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the hospital. Of the many philanthropic causes that Ted Oberfeld supports there is none that is more personal than The Oberfeld Family Fund for Alzheimer established in 2012.
