The Michael Kors woman is lightly tanned, toned, polished and pulled together at all times. She loves fur, figure-hugging fabrics and expensive shoes. She may or may not travel by private jet, but she certainly looks as though she does. Even women who buy from Kors’s second line, Michael Michael Kors (MMK), exude a certain confidence (check out the new lifestyle store at Rockefeller Center next time you are in New York—if you can get through the door, for all the well-dressed, be-heeled MK fans exiting, loaded down with merchandise).

It could be said that if Oscar de la Renta is the Park Avenue Princess’s couturier of choice, then Kors is their regular tailor. This isn’t intended as a slight.
